Capacity Building Trainings: Risk and Vulnerability Assessment

Within the framework of the EU4 Energy Transition Project, Risk and Vulnerability Assessment trainings were conducted with observer municipalities on 03, 17 and 31 May. Prof. Dr. Tuncer Demir focused on the following topics in his presentation on adaptation measures:

• The relationship between floods and climate change 
• Examples of wrong interventions in riverbeds in cities 
• Floods and flood control measures in rivers
• Coastal flooding and flooding and adaptation methods
• Ecological adaptation methods 
• Urban heat islands 

Mr. Dr. Ali Kemal Çınar presented the good practice examples of Çiğli Municipality. During the training, the observer municipalities also shared information about possible floods and flood risks.
