The meeting aimed to propose actionable solutions for enhancing multi-level and multi-sectoral governance. During the session, members identified key challenges faced by various stakeholders in urban and environmental governance. Following a collective brainstorming session, the group worked on developing potential solutions to address these issues effectively.
Another critical discussion focused on establishing a standardized methodology for the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP). Ms Neslihan Ağartan, Environment and Urban Planning Specialist of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change, gave a presentation on MoECC's climate change work on the draft climate change law and local climate action plan legislation. The aim was to create a consistent approach that can be synchronized with existing national legislation, promoting cohesive climate and energy actions across regions.
Looking ahead, members discussed the development of the MLGP IT Tool, which is set to become the platform's main communication tool. The EU4ETTR Türkiye Project team Leader Ms. Daiva Matonienė talked about the importance of the MLG Platform and mentioned the objectives of Working Group 1. Mrs. İpek Taşgın presented the MLGP IT Tool. Participants shared their expectations for the tool and volunteered to be early testers, providing valuable feedback to enhance its usability and functionality during the discussion session moderated by Expert Mr. Mike Mannaart.
The collaboration of experts across different levels of government and sectors continues to drive the success of these initiatives, furthering the goal of creating more resilient, sustainable urban environments.
