Sep 19, 2022From September 19-21, 2022, key stakeholders from Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality came together to find more effective solutions for combating climate change. The workshop extensively discussed adaptation actions and strategies for climate change issues such as biodiversity loss, coastal and inland flooding, and heat islands. Various options for adapting to climate change impacts were evaluated. Participants engaged in group work to identify Istanbul's priority areas and prioritize actions through multi-criteria analysis.
The workshop aimed to develop climate change adaptation plans and strengthen sustainable energy and climate actions. The event hosted key stakeholders from relevant departments of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, affiliated companies, district municipalities in Istanbul, and central government representatives. Together with stakeholders and decision-making institutions, potential best adaptation actions were discussed based on the SECAP methodology.
