Second Round Table Discussion: Roadmap for Concept Development of a Multi-Level Governance for Energy and Climate Policies Implementation in Türkiye

On January 18, 2022, the Union of Turkish Municipalities hosted a crucial roundtable discussion on developing a multi-level governance platform for energy and climate policy implementation in Turkey. The meeting, which included key stakeholders from Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Bağcılar Municipality, and other municipalities, featured opening speeches by Mr. Birol Ekici of TBB and Mr. Ricardas Degutis, Lithuanian Ambassador, who emphasized the importance of energy efficiency and Turkey-EU relations. Ms. Daiva Matonienė, Turkey Project Team Leader, presented the project’s goals, highlighting its focus on creating a governance platform to enhance cooperation between national and local authorities. The event concluded with recommendations to advance Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs), marking a significant step toward Turkey's sustainable energy transition.
