Workshop: Energy Efficiency for Climate Action

On February 28, 2022, the “Energy Efficiency for Climate Action” workshop was held virtually via Zoom, as part of the EU4 Energy Transition project. The event aimed to support cities in achieving best practices in energy efficiency and renewable energy systems.

The workshop was moderated by Arif Künar and featured a range of expert speakers including Daiva Matonienė, Project Team Leader, who opened the event and introduced the participants. Arif Künar discussed the new European Commission energy and climate package, while Ali Korakan explored the role of energy efficiency in climate policy and the CoM policies. Valius Serbenta shared insights on Lithuania's energy efficiency improvements in the housing sector, and Mantas Marčiukaitis offered adaptation tips for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

The agenda included practical sessions on integrating renewable energy systems in buildings, conducting energy audits, and exploring waste-to-energy projects. Additionally, participants gained insights from municipalities in the Netherlands, the Baltic region, and the UK, and engaged in discussions and Q&A sessions.

The workshop aimed to facilitate learning and sharing among Turkish municipalities and other stakeholders, helping them to develop and implement effective energy efficiency measures and climate actions.
