This call supports the development and demonstration of concentrated solar-thermal technologies that provide renewable heat for industrial processes and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
Deadline 18-02-2027
HORIZON-CL5-2027-02-D3-07
Scope. Projects should demonstrate concentrated solar-thermal systems capable of supplying reliable, cost-effective and low-carbon heat to industrial processes. Projects may include thermal storage, hybrid renewable systems, heat-transfer solutions and integration with existing industrial facilities.
Sectors. Renewable heat, solar energy, industrial decarbonisation, manufacturing, food processing, chemicals, textiles, materials production and energy-intensive industry.
Eligible applicants. Legal entity (including from Türkiye).
Key requirements. Projects should: demonstrate concentrated solar-thermal technologies in a relevant industrial environment; supply useful heat for industrial processes; integrate thermal storage or other flexibility solutions where appropriate; reduce fossil-fuel use and greenhouse-gas emissions; address seasonal and daily variability of solar energy; demonstrate technical, economic and environmental performance; provide a credible business model and replication strategy.
Funding & duration. Funding rate up to 100% under Horizon Europe rules. Project budgets: 8–18 mln. Eur, reflecting multi‑actor, system‑level demonstrators across industrial value chains. Project duration: 36–48 months.
