Founded on November 18, 1992 as İZBAK A.Ş – İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi Bakım, Onarım Makine San Ve Tic AŞ. (İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Maintenance, Repair Machinery Industry and Trade Inc ) and in 1999, İZDENİZ A.Ş. - İzmir Deniz İşletmeciliği Nakliye ve Turizm Ticaret A.Ş., which has its current company title., in 2000, within the scope of the privatization project of the ships and piers of the Turkish Maritime Enterprises, with the decision of the Privatization High Council dated April 04, 2000 and numbered 2000/06 started to carry out the "Izmir Gulf Line Passenger and Vehicle Transportation by Sea", which was transferred to the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.
 
İZDENİZ A.Ş., which started the Sea Transportation of Passenger and Vehicle on the İzmir Gulf Line with 104 personnel, 8 passenger ships and 3 Car Ferries, taken over from Türkiye Denizcilik İşletmeleri AŞ on March 8, 2000, today with its 420 personnel, 13 Passenger Ships, 2 High Speed Passenger Ships, 5 Car Ferries, 1 Nostalgic Passenger Ship and 1 Floating Facility, continues to serve with a total of 12 piers, 8 in the inner Bay and 4 in the Outer Bay of Izmir.
 
Gulf Transportation, which started with only 4 lines and 60 voyages per day in 2000, thanks to the investments made by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality to increase public transportation opportunities in the Gulf, continues with 205 voyages on 9 different routes every day. In the summer season, in addition to the scheduled voyages, there are expeditions to Güzelbahçe / Urla / Mordoğan / Foça Piers In line with the goals of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality to make Izmir a world city and to accelerate sea tourism, the international Izmir Alsancak - Lesbos voyages started in 2022 are carried out by İZDENİZ A.Ş.
 
Thanks to its comfortable, environmentally friendly and modern ships for over 22 years, our passengers have had the opportunity to travel away from the heavy city traffic, quickly, economically and enjoying the Izmir Bay, İZDENİZ A.Ş. carried a total of 14.621.849 passengers, 1,256.843 vehicles and 225.960 bicycle passengers in 2023. İZDENİZ, which strictly implements the sea protection rules of the International Maritime Organization (IMO); adopts the principle of providing comfortable public transportation services by sea within the borders of İzmir Gulf, considering the satisfaction of personnel and passengers; adopts the concept of being environmentally sensitive, closely following technological developments, innovative and continuous improvement. In order to prevent environmental pollution, using natural resources efficiently and in a controlled manner and using natural resources effectively and efficiently with the principle of sustainability while considering future generations while performing services within the scope of activity are priorities within the framework of İZDENİZ's integrated management policy. We have earned the right to receive the Zero Waste Certificate issued by the Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change by establishing the Zero Waste Management System determined by the Zero Waste Regulation and regularly separating and collecting existing wastes in Karşıyaka, Bostanlı, Üçkuyular Piers and İzmir Marina. Within the scope of the Blue Flag, which is an indicator that İZDENİZ and İzmir Marina have carried the importance they give to the environment to international standards, measures are meticulously implemented for waste separation, cleaning of our water areas, and protection of underwater life. Trainings, information and awareness activities are carried out to emphasize the importance of the Blue Flag with our personnel on duty at İzmir Marina and the boats connected to it, and with all stakeholders using the water area. The Blue Flag, which is an international environmental award given to qualified beaches and marinas that meet the required standards, also plays an important role in protecting the coasts, developing environmental awareness and tourism marketing.
