About
KADİM Cooperative was established on November 21, 2022, with the aim of supporting women's economic independence and strengthening social solidarity. Operating in Mardin, the cooperative brings together women who seek employment opportunities through projects initiated under the umbrella of MOKİD (Mardin Joint Women’s Cooperation Association). With a particular focus on enhancing the existing skills of disadvantaged women, the cooperative contributes to the local economy while also delivering value through socially driven initiatives.
Products and Services
KADİM Cooperative primarily offers catering, event organization, and sales support for women producers’ goods. By providing catering services at trainings, events, and seminars organized by NGOs, public institutions, and private sector organizations, it has quickly become a trusted service provider. The “MOKİD Kitchen”, established with the support of MOKİD, allows women to improve their culinary skills while generating income through services delivered at various events. The restaurant also provides employment opportunities for women.
Additionally, the cooperative supports the sales of products made by home-based women producers and women’s cooperatives in Mardin. Without charging any additional fees, products are delivered directly to consumers, contributing to the income generation of local women entrepreneurs.
Mission and Goals
The mission of KADİM Cooperative is to integrate women into the economic sphere, encourage local production, and promote a culture of social solidarity. Its goals include increasing women's participation in cooperative activities, expanding employment opportunities, and enhancing service capacity to become an effective organization at both regional and national levels. The cooperative also aims to raise awareness and promote practices related to climate change and environmental sustainability. Furthermore, it seeks to establish local and national partnerships to support the sustainability of women’s labor and solidarity.
All activities are carried out with sensitivity to environmental sustainability, and appropriate measures are taken and implemented accordingly.
Areas of Activity
KADİM Cooperative is active primarily in the food and service sectors. In addition to catering and event organization services, it conducts commercial activities focused on marketing handcrafted products made by local women producers. Its socially oriented approach and cooperative model provide a unique structure within the sector. Participating in social projects centered on women’s entrepreneurship and solidarity is one of its core areas of focus. The cooperative also prioritizes raising awareness about environmental issues and climate change, and has initiated practices to manage and repurpose household waste generated by its restaurant operations.
Projects
In line with its mission and goals, the MOKİD Kitchen restaurant was launched in 2024 as part of a socially focused initiative supporting women’s employment. Established in collaboration with the Mardin Joint Women’s Cooperation Association (MOKİD), the restaurant operates with a zero-waste approach. In addition to employing women, it implements various practices to raise social and environmental awareness. A portion of the income is used to provide hot meals to families in need, and a “suspended meal” initiative enables guests to contribute voluntarily.
Through a sales stand located in the restaurant, direct support is provided for the marketing of goods produced by home-based women and women’s cooperatives operating in Mardin. Although the project officially concluded in December 2024, the activities continue within the scope of the business.
