The NDC Partnership is a global initiative that brings together over 200 members, including more than 120 countries and over 80 institutions, to collaborate on ambitious climate action aligned with the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Its main objective is to assist countries in implementing their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) by providing tailored packages of expertise, technical assistance, and funding. By pooling resources and expertise, the Partnership aims to facilitate efficient access to support for both adaptation to and mitigation of climate change, fostering equitable and sustainable development.
The Partnership was launched in 2016 to address the need for coordinated and effective deployment of resources for climate action. It operates based on ten guiding principles, including supporting country-driven processes, promoting long-term climate action, enhancing coordination, and promoting gender equality.
Moving forward, the NDC Partnership aims to continue supporting countries through the implementation of their revised NDCs, the Global Stocktake of 2023, and into the next cycle of NDC revision and enhancement, with the goal of driving ambitious action on climate change and sustainable development.
