Resource, Environment and Climate Association (REC) established in order to produce data and information, to facilitate public debate and to formulate public policies in the areas of circular economy, climate change and nature protection in Turkiye. REC is an independent, non-forprofit think tank based in Ankara, Turkiye. REC actively works on thematic areas such as waste management; climate change; law development, enforcement and compliance; local climate action; biodiversity.
Their primary interests lie in developing Local Climate Change Action Plans (LCCAPs), Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs), and conducting Local Greenhouse Gas Emission Inventories.
Selected projects include the development of Greenhouse Gas Inventories and Climate Change Action Plans for Balıkesir, Denizli, and Kocaeli. They have also organized events such as the Circular Economy and Climate Change Exhibition and provided technical assistance to develop analytical frameworks for low carbon strategies. Additionally, they focus on strengthening institutional capacity for environmental management in Turkey, particularly in building environmental expertise and capacity.
