SHURA Energy Transition Center is an independent, non-profit think tank dedicated to facilitating the transition to a low-carbon energy system in Türkiye through fact-based analysis and the best available data. The Center offers technical, economic, and political analyses on various aspects of energy transition in Türkiye, focusing on both the power and end-use sectors. By considering perspectives from a diverse range of stakeholders, the Center aims to enhance understanding of the economic potential, technical feasibility, and relevant policy tools necessary for this transition. Founded by the European Climate Foundation (ECF), Agora Energiewende, and Sabancı University (SU) Istanbul Policy Center (IPC), SHURA Energy Transition Center operates under the auspices of Sabancı University.
The SHURA Energy Transition Center focuses on several key areas of interest in the energy sector. These include renewable energy, energy efficiency, electrification, green technologies, energy transition financing, socio-economic analysis of energy transitions, just transition principles, power markets, and energy policies. By researching and promoting advancements in these areas, SHURA Energy Center aims to drive sustainable and equitable energy practices, foster innovation in green technologies, and contribute to the global energy transition towards cleaner and more efficient energy systems.
