Vision and Mission
The municipality implements the 2023-2030 Sustainable
Energy and Climate Change Action Plan (SECAP) with the
aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing energy
efficiency, improving water management, and increasing green
spaces. Its mission is to build a sustainable Üsküdar by
prioritizing social benefits alongside environmental
responsibility.

and recycling of packaging waste and integrated waste
management practices.
Composting Project from Market Waste:
Converting organic waste from neighborhood markets
into compost and natural fertilizer for use in green
areas.
Vegetable Waste Oil Collection Project: Collecting
vegetable waste oil and recycling it.
Zero Waste and Environmental Awareness
Training: Raising environmental awareness through
training in schools, neighborhoods, and businesses.
Applications in Education and Businesses: Energy
efficiency applications in schools, waste reduction in
businesses, and projects that strengthen carbon
footprint awareness.
CDP Reporting: Ensuring transparency by reporting
in accordance with international standards in the areas
of climate change, water management, and
sustainability.
Goals
Üsküdar Municipality aims to raise environmental awareness,
combat climate change, and create a greener, more
sustainable, and livable Üsküdar through local and
international collaborations.
Üsküdar Municipality adopts a holistic approach to climate
change and sustainability. It focuses on climate actions such as
projects that reduce carbon footprint, energy efficiency
applications, green infrastructure, and sustainable transportation solutions. Financing sustainable projects and supporting
renewable energy investments are also among the priority
areas. In addition, urban transformation and resilient
construction projects, waste management and recycling
applications, and social and environmental awareness projects
are being carried out. Raising citizens' climate awareness and
encouraging sustainable living habits also form the basis of
social participation and awareness efforts. Activities in these
areas ensure that strategic steps are taken to adapt to climate
change and combat climate change.
