Bakırköy Municipality Joins GCoM!

With its rich history, modern vision, and sustainability-focused approach, Bakırköy Municipality has taken a significant step by signing the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy (GCoM).

Spanning from the Byzantine era to the Republican period, Bakırköy is not only one of Istanbul’s most prominent districts but also a leader in shaping the future with its nature-friendly, transparent, and inclusive governance.

The GCoM initiative, which empowers local governments to take action on sustainable energy solutions and combat climate change, will further strengthen Bakırköy Municipality’s commitment to nature, social welfare, and economic sustainability.
