The CITY-ACCEL Training Programme kicked off with an engaging first lab focused on helping municipalities move from SECAP priorities to investable, bankable climate projects! 🚀
The session brought together representatives of municipalities, climate change mitigation organizations, and experts for an interactive programme combining practical insights, financing perspectives, AI-powered project development, and opportunities for discussion.
The session began with a warm welcome from Ms. Daiva Matonienė, MLGP4Climate Lead, who introduced the CITY-ACCEL approach and its role in helping municipalities move from climate priorities towards investment.
🏦Mr. Vladyslav Berezhnyi, Member of the International Banking Committee, shared the financial institution’s perspective on financing municipal climate projects and what municipalities should consider when seeking investment.
💶Ms. Daiva Matonienė then presented funding programmes, financial instruments and practical opportunities for turning SECAP priorities into municipal investment projects.
🤖 The role of technology was explored by Mr. Doğukan Aycı, IT SECAP Expert, who demonstrated how AI can support SECAP implementation, project development and access to financing.
💬 The session concluded with an interactive Q&A giving participants an opportunity to discuss practical questions and challenges.
