Didim Municipality aims to shape the city as a sustainable, livable, inclusive, and environmentally friendly place for future generations. The municipality adopts a local governance approach that respects nature, promotes social justice, encourages citizen participation in decision-making, and provides public services in an effective, transparent, and accessible manner.
Within the Zoning Department of Didim Municipality, paper usage has been completely eliminated and printing processes have been discontinued. This practice is planned to be gradually extended to all other municipal departments. The removal of under-desk trash bins is intended to encourage recycling habits among municipal employees, and efforts are being made to minimize packaging waste across all units.
Planned exterior renovation projects for municipal buildings aim to maximize the use of natural daylight, contributing to reduced energy consumption. A new initiative titled the “Waste Market” is currently in development, utilizing entirely recycled materials. Additionally, the construction of the First-Class Waste Collection Center has been completed and is expected to become operational in the near future.
