Kuluncak Kadın Girişimi Üretim ve İşletme Kooperatifi was established with the primary aim of enabling women—particularly those working from home without generating any personal income—to earn their own livelihood and achieve economic independence through cooperative membership and labor.
In creating a work environment for women, the cooperative took into account the impacts of climate change and the global scarcity of natural resources. The overarching goal is to ensure environmentally friendly production while leaving behind clean, fertile land for future generations. With this in mind, the cooperative prioritizes the use of compost and practices water-free (dry) farming methods. However, financial constraints have limited the expansion of production areas.
The cooperative focuses on producing goods that are compatible with climate adaptation and require minimal resource use. For example, Malatya’s geographically indicated apricots are cultivated in high-altitude areas using dry farming techniques. In addition, oyster mushrooms are grown in compost bags. By increasing the variety of such products, the cooperative aims to promote recycling and reduce water consumption.
To achieve these goals on a larger scale, the cooperative seeks to benefit from available project funding and support mechanisms.
