URBANREC – Innovative Approaches for the Recycling of Urban Bulky Waste into High-Value Products  (2016-2019)
As a partner in the Horizon 2020-funded URBANREC project, Bornova Municipality contributed to developing innovative methods for the collection, sorting, reuse, and recycling of bulky urban waste. Activities included public training, waste processing trials, and the implementation of circular economy principles through high-value product recovery and advanced disposal techniques.
BORNBERG – Climate Adaptation TownTwinning Between BORNova and HeidelBERG (2023-2024)
This EU-funded project aims to enhance climate adaptation capacity in Bornova through town twinning with Heidelberg. Key activities include the development of a local SECAP, mutual knowledge exchange on climate adaptation technologies, public awareness campaigns, and actions to reduce Bornova’s carbon and water footprints.

STORMLOG – Sustainable Transportation and Water Management in Local Governmental Services (2023- in progress) 
Funded under Türkiye’s Climate Change Adaptation Grant Program, this 18-month project aims to enhance Bornova’s climate resilience by integrating sustainable mobility and innovative water management practices. Activities include developing a local SECAP, conducting pilot applications for electrified transport and renewable energy systems, creating urban water reuse solutions, and fostering public awareness through workshops and international study visits.
