HORIZON-CL5-2027-02-D3-30
Scope. The call supports advanced direct-air-capture technologies that can reduce energy use, improve capture efficiency and lower the overall cost of removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Projects may address sorbents, solvents, regeneration processes, modular systems, renewable-energy integration and CO₂ transport, storage or utilisationn.
Sectors. Carbon removal, direct air capture, carbon capture and storage, carbon utilisation, renewable energy, chemical engineering, industrial decarbonisation and climate technologies.
Eligible applicants. Legal entity (including from Türkiye).
Key requirements. Projects should: develop or demonstrate an innovative direct-air-capture technology; improve energy efficiency and reduce the cost of CO₂ removal; provide a robust life-cycle assessment; demonstrate the quality and durability of captured CO₂; address permanent storage or credible utilisation pathways; assess environmental risks and resource requirements.; provide a scale-up and commercialisation strategy; avoid overstating climate benefits and account for all lifecycle emissions..
Funding & duration. Funding rate up to 100% under Horizon Europe rules. Project budgets: 24 mln. Eur, reflecting district‑scale demonstrators. Project duration: 36–48 months.
