Call for Data-driven circular economy for e-mobility ecosystem
This topic supports innovation projects that accelerate the transition towards a circular and resource-efficient e-mobility ecosystem. The focus is on extending the lifetime, repairability, refurbishment, reuse and recycling of electric vehicle powertrain components and charging infrastructure, supported by data-driven lifecycle management, digital twins and interoperable digital product passports. The topic is implemented under the 2ZERO Partnership – Towards zero emission road transport.

Scope. The topic covers two areas. Area A focuses on circular solutions for EV powertrains and charging infrastructure, including extended lifetime, predictive maintenance, repair, refurbishment, reuse and recycling. Area B focuses on data-driven lifecycle management using digital twins, digital product passports, component tracking and secure data sharing. Projects should demonstrate solutions in real-life conditions and assess their environmental, economic and circularity performance.
Sectors. Electric mobility, automotive industry, EV powertrains, electric motors, power electronics, charging infrastructure, batteries and components, circular economy, recycling, refurbishment, digital twins, digital product passports and sustainable transport.
Eligible applicants. Legal entity (including from Türkiye).
Key requirements. Projects must address Area A or Area B and demonstrate measurable improvements in EV circularity and lifecycle management. Area A should demonstrate solutions for lifetime extension, maintenance, repair, refurbishment, reuse and recovery. Area B should develop interoperable and secure data-driven solutions, including digital twins and/or digital product passports, following FAIR data principles. Real-life demonstration and contribution to the 2ZERO Partnership objectives are expected.
Funding & duration. Funding rate up to 100% under Horizon Europe rules. Project budgets: 24 mln. Eur. Project duration: 36–48 months.
