Funding supports the development of next-generation climate and sustainability scenarios to better understand interactions and trade-offs across climate, environmental and socio-economic objectives.

Scope. Funding supports the development of next-generation climate and sustainability scenarios integrating climate impacts, adaptation, mitigation, socio-economic and environmental factors. Projects should improve scenario modelling, capture cross-sectoral interactions and trade-offs, and provide actionable evidence for climate and sustainability policy decision.
Sectors. Climate and sustainability policy, energy, industry, transport, land use, agriculture, biodiversity, environment and socio-economic system.
Eligible applicants. Legal entity (including from Türkiye).
Key requirements. Projects must improve integrated assessment models or develop alternative scenario approaches, addressing one of three areas: climate impacts and adaptation, improved scenario frameworks, or improved policy representation. They should integrate cross-sectoral interactions, trade-offs, equity and socio-economic factors, involve stakeholders and ensure that scenarios are relevant and actionable for policymaker.
Funding & duration. Funding rate up to 100% under Horizon Europe rules. Project budgets: 24 mln. Eur, reflecting district‑scale demonstrators. Project duration: 36–48 months.
