Call for On-site robotic and automated techniques for building renovation and new construction

Funding for large‑scale demonstration of advanced on‑site robotic and automated construction and renovation techniques, enabling faster, safer, low‑carbon and cost‑efficient building processes. The call supports projects that deploy robotics, automation and digital construction technologies directly on construction sites to accelerate Europe’s transition toward climate‑neutral and resource‑efficient buildings.

HORIZON-CL5-2027-05-D4-05

Scope. Funding supports real‑environment demonstration of robotic and automated systems for building renovation and new construction, including autonomous machinery, robotic retrofitting tools, automated façade renovation, digital twins, AI‑supported construction workflows and advanced on‑site manufacturing. Projects must show how robotics and automation can reduce emissions, improve energy performance, increase renovation speed, and enhance worker safety.

Sectors. Building renovation, construction robotics, digital construction, energy‑efficient buildings, low‑carbon construction technologies.

Eligible applicants. Legal entity (including from Türkiye).

Key requirements. Real‑environment pilots on construction or renovation sites, integration of robotic and automated systems, measurable improvements in renovation speed and energy performance, contribution to EU climate and building‑renovation targets, scalability across European cities and regions.

Funding & duration.  Funding rate up to 70% for profit entities and up to 100% non-profit entities under Horizon Europe rules. Project budgets: 20,25 mln. Eur, reflecting large‑scale robotic and automated construction demonstrators. Project duration: 36–48 months.
