The development of SMART Ankara Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan aligned with EU standards, including diagnostics, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning and delivering over 30 capacity-building events for more than 600 professionals. The project fosters collaborative planning and promotes sustainable mobility culture, indirectly supporting climate goals by encouraging greener transport options.

The EIB JASPERS SUMP Training and Capacity-Building enhances urban planning capacities across 12 EU countries, focusing on urban mobility planning methodology, decarbonisation solutions, monitoring, and stakeholder inclusion. With over 300 participants trained, it improves governance and planning quality, thereby facilitating better integration of sustainability in urban development and contributing to climate action.

The SUMP BSR project supports Baltic cities in adopting 

sustainable urban mobility planning through a unified framework for indicators and evaluation. It strengthens local governments’ planning capabilities and promotes cooperation, contributing to emission reductions and climate resilience across the region.

Additionally, Dr Kristina Gaučė actively participates in several professional bodies, serving as a Green Mobility Ambassador at the national level in Lithuania. She is a member of the evaluation committee for the “neŠYLAM” competition, which is part of the Climate Neutrality Promotion Programme and the EU Horizon “Pilot Cities” project. Furthermore, she contributes as a member of the Citizens’ Assembly on climate and sustainability, supporting inclusive decision-making and community-led urban transitions. Her engagement also extends to European networks such as Eurocities and CIVITAS, where she participates in voluntary international capacity-building missions and facilitates workshops and stakeholder dialogues across various levels, from municipal specialists to national policymakers, with a focus on sustainable urban development and environmental resilience.
